At our next meeting, Yona Stillman will speak with us about Balance & Fall Prevention. This will be an interactive program, so come prepared to learn balance and strengthening exercises!

 

Yona spent the first 20+ years of her career as a Physical Therapist, much of it in home health. As a field clinician, she treated patients dealing with a variety of health concerns, including orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurological, musculoskeletal, and cognitive issues, to name a few. In her capacity as a practicing therapist, Yona incorporated fall prevention and balance training into nearly every home health therapy session, and as Rehab Preceptor and Rehab Manager at the Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, and Lead Therapist at Team Select Homecare in Aurora, CO, Yona chaired the Falls Committees at both institutions and was deeply involved with analyzing and addressing causes and prevention of falls. Through her presentation to our Rotary Club, Yona hopes to teach us all about falls, balance, and how to reduce the risk of the former, and improve the latter, leading to a better quality of life!
